Sorry it has been awhile since my last post. We are enjoying time being a "whole" family again. I am just sad knowing we will just get short weeks together over spans of months and years in the future. Time is short with Michael at home as well.

Megan was happy, nervous to send in law school applications and all the attachments. It was very hard for her to push the send button. I hope and pray she gets in to a good school where she can excel. As for the Hawaii job, it is still unresolved. The owner is concerned about the economy and it's effect on his touring business, which is very understandable.

Michael had his high school soccer banquet last night. The first year coach is someone that should not be coaching at varsity level and showed that again at the banquet. He shared negative comments about every player that were very inappropriate and rude. It showed his inexperience as a coach. I am hoping he doesn't coach next year, but our athletic director isn't very pro soccer. Thankfully Michael has his club team.

We leave next week for Florida and I hope he has the games of his life. They have been practicing and I hope all the hard work pays off. Michael got "student of the Month" at school for PE. At conferences all the teachers commented on Michael's maturity and work ethic, which made Steve and I very proud.

They are working on our roof this week. It is green, which gives the house a different look. Very noisy and messy. The weather is getting cold and we might get some snow this weekend.

Steve has been under heavy stress with the UAW targeting Denso and visiting employees at their homes to sign cards. If a union goes through, I really feel Denso would leave MI. Denso is the leading employer in Battle Creek (not Kellogg). Many satellite companies are here because of Denso. It would be devastating to our area. I know we have talked about moving in 3-4 years, but that would really hinge on being able to sell our house. Very stressful!!

Sorry to all if I don't take the time to comment on every post. I am glad we are all posting as a family. I feel it has brought us closer. If anyone has an issue I would much rather receive a phone call then read it in a post 4-5 days after the post has been up due to me not checking posts daily. We are a close family and should feel comfortable if something is bothering us to call and not make unnecessary judgements which just adds to all the stress in our lives. I hope everyone knows how much I love my family and would do anything for all of you. I know I don't always say or do the right thing. I guess I'm still "a work in progress". I have never wanted to come off as having it all together, because I don't and my families support is very important to me. I can sometimes be selfish and I am sorry for that. Hope everyone is having a good week.

Love to all!

How Starbucks Saved My Life

OK. I went to the library today and checked out a couple books. Michael and Steve went to help Steve's parents move. Yes, we just found out they sold their place and were moving to a different mobile home court today. I hope they enjoy their new place. It is always a pain to move and we realize we accumulate way too much "stuff"!

I started one of the books tonight. It is called "How Starbucks Saved MY Life". Michael laughed when he saw what I was reading. No, it is not about a coffee addict! I've only read the first chapter and already know it is a keeper. Here are a few quotes. "You only live one life; take it from me, live it wisely. Weigh your priorities." (next one) "Imagine we are all the same. Imagine we agree about politics, religion and morality. Imagine we like the same types of music, art, food and coffee. Imagine we all look alike. Sound boring? Differences need not divide us. Embrace diversity. Dignity is every one's human right."

So I hope others go to the library and check it out.

(Megs I hope you are having a fun time tonight!!)

Love to all!!

Saturday Oct 18th

Sorry it has been a while since my last post. I did go to Chicago last Saturday to take the class on the soft tissue laser. It was a very long day! The class was o.k. I do think the laser is a good tool to help patients with gum disease, so I will be using it. Just a reminder to everyone, floss your teeth everyday!! Keeping your mouth healthy can help keep your body healthy and also flossing is very inexpensive.

I am finally starting to feel better. I had a sore throat and a cold. I also wonder if my EB virus was active. I don't recover as quickly as I used to. This weekend is pretty quiet so I should be able to rest up!

Michael finished high school soccer for the season this past week. They lost on Thurs night 2-1. Mikie scored the goal from the 18 and it was a bullet into the goal. It fired the team up, but they didn't manage to score another one. Many people commented that his goal was the best goal scored all season. He was sad to have the season over but is looking forward to playing in Florida. We leave on 11-20. He will still be running everyday and working out.

We got the paper work this week for the National youth leadership forum on Medicine that Micheal got nominated to attend. We are going to sign him up for July 19th-29th in Chicago. They have a web site www.nylf.org if anyone wants to take a look at it.

We are all anxious for Megs to come home. She will be here from 11-8, to the 30th.
LA is a big adjustment for her, so I hope it all works out for the best.

Our printer is not working and of course they couldn't get the part for it so I have a new one ordered. I use my printer to import pictures, so I'll put them in when I get a printer.

Love to all!!
